We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Guest House Manager to oversee the daily operations of a charming rural guest house in Somerset. This is a fantastic live-in opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys providing exceptional guest experiences in a peaceful countryside setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the guest house, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
Oversee reservations, check-ins, and check-outs, maintaining high standards of customer service.
Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
Maintain a welcoming and well-presented environment, ensuring rooms and communal areas meet cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Oversee breakfast service and assist with light food preparation if required.
Manage stock levels for housekeeping and kitchen supplies.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations.
Handle basic maintenance issues and liaise with external contractors when necessary.
Promote the guest house through local marketing initiatives and online booking platforms.
Maintain records, process payments, and handle financial reporting.
Requirements:
Previous experience in hospitality management or a similar guest-facing role.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Comfortable with handling bookings and using reservation systems.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and guest satisfaction.
